Troubleshooting Trade Copying

Trades may occasionally fail to copy in TraderPilot. There is always an underlying reason — this guide covers the most common causes and how to resolve them.

Trades Not Being Copied

Before investigating specific causes, run through this checklist:

  1. Go to the Trading Accounts page.
  2. Ensure the Status toggle is enabled for your master account.
  3. Confirm that all connected slave accounts are also enabled.

If everything looks correct, the issue may be one of the following:

Symbol Mismatch

If the master trade involves a symbol that is unavailable on the slave account, the trade will not be copied. Ensure the traded symbol exists and is active on the slave broker.

Invalid Volume

TraderPilot may reject a trade if the volume doesn't meet the slave broker's requirements. This typically occurs in one of two scenarios:

Minimum Lot Size Not Met

Some brokers enforce a minimum trade size. If the copied volume falls below this threshold, the order will be rejected.

Solution — Enable Force Minimum Lot Size

When this option is enabled, TraderPilot automatically adjusts any volume below the broker's minimum and submits the smallest allowed size (typically 0.01 lots).

Maximum Lot Size Exceeded

If the copied volume exceeds the broker's maximum allowed size, the order will be rejected.

Trades Not Closing

If a trade is not closing as expected, check your copier configuration:

  • Open your copier config and verify that the Strict Close option is disabled.

When this option is disabled, TraderPilot will not attempt to close trades on the slave account — even if the master trade has been closed.

SL Missing

If you are seeing an "SL Missing" error and the trade was not copied to the slave account, this is likely related to your Fixed Risk setting.

When Fixed Risk is enabled, the copier requires a valid Stop Loss (SL) value on the master trade. If the SL is set to zero, the trade will be rejected and will not be copied.

To resolve this:

  • Option A — Disable Fixed Risk in your copier configuration.
  • Option B — Ensure the master trade always has a valid SL value greater than zero before it is placed.
